What is a WiFi QR code?
A WiFi QR code stores a network name, security type and, when needed, a password. A compatible scanner reads the details and offers to connect. It shares connection information; it does not provide internet access by itself.
This tool uses the WiFi QR format documented by ZXing. No subscription or redirect is needed to scan the saved image.
WiFi QR code questions, answered
Is this WiFi QR code generator free?
Yes. Create, download and print static WiFi QR codes without an account. The code does not expire, but you must replace it when your network details change.
Can I create a WiFi QR code without a password?
Yes, for an open network. For a protected network you need its password. This tool cannot discover passwords or bypass network security.
Does a WiFi QR code hide my password?
No. Anyone with the QR image can read the connection details, including the password. Share a guest network code only with people you want to give access to.
Are my WiFi details saved?
The generator processes the form in your browser without sending its values to a server or saving them in browser storage. Downloaded images and copied details remain where you save or paste them. This website also uses standard advertising and analytics services.
Will it work on iPhone and Android?
Many recent phones can scan WiFi QR codes with their camera or built-in QR scanner. Support varies by device and security mode. Test the code on a phone before sharing.
Which networks are supported?
Choose WPA/WPA2 Personal, legacy WEP or an open network. Hidden networks are supported. Enterprise logins, captive portals and WPA3-only configuration are not supported by this generator.
Why is the code not connecting?
Check the exact SSID, password, security type and hidden-network setting. Stay within WiFi range and preserve the white border around the code. A QR code cannot fix a router or internet connection problem.
