The “iPhone 14 Emergency SOS Satellite Lifesaver” service is a perfect example of how technology can save lives. Now, Apple has released the 14th iPhone series worldwide with advanced features. Apple’s Research department confirms that iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models support Emergency SOS via satellite. It is first available to users in the US and Canada later this month. Apple’s life-saver connectivity service will allow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models to communicate directly to a satellite, possibly messaging with emergency services outside of mobile and Wi-Fi coverage. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro features a lot more like this. The SOS service will be free to all iPhone 14 owners for at least two years.
What is SOS and How its work to save the Life?
When you’re many miles from civilization, a satellite emergency locator transmitter (SELT) can be a lifesaver. Typically, SELTs communicate via the 406 MHz emergency response frequency. You can activate the device or it can activate automatically, sending out a distress signal that’s detected by the Cospas–Sarsat satellite network. Once the signal is detected, the network forwards it to an emergency response centre, which contacts the appropriate authorities for rescue. SELTs are required for some aircraft, and you can purchase the devices for most recreational boats.
