Lock Down! Good news for all drinkers in KERALA. The Wait is Over, The Kerala state Beverage Corporation is ready to launch the BevQ App which allows users to register on the app, and buy liquor maintaining social distancing without any fuss. The app is approved by Google Playstore and will soon be available on the play store to download.

How to Register on Kerala BevQ App
Step 1: Search for BEVCO Beverages Liquor E-token Bev Q App Download Link.on Playstore
Install the BevQApp from Play Store.

Step 2: Open the app and enter your details like Name, age. Phone number, Pincode, etc.
Step 3: You will see Bevco outlets in your Pincode. Select your nearest shop, Click on the submit button and you will get the e-token.
An OTP or One Time Password system is included in the app to verify the phone numbers.
A user can register for the queue for only one outlet at a time in his pin code. Earlier, when a similar virtual queue system was launched in Tamil Nadu and other states, people tried to book for tokens from multiple locations at the same time and within a few hours of launch, the virtual services crashed.

Why BevQ App?
Serpentine queues were seen in front of liquor shops in many North Indian states after Beverages outlets were opened as part of lockdown relaxations. The Kerala Govt decided to avoid taking any chance of spread of the COVID 19 virus and had decided not to open the beverage outlets, but instead launch an app to control the queue.
How to use BevQ App?
BevQ was developed by a Kochi Based startup Faircode Technologies.
Does BevQ provide home delivery of liquor?
The answer is No, The minister of excise during the second phase of lockdown had mentioned that they were looking for alternate ways of selling alcohol, like home delivery, people have a misguidance that the ready to BevQ app will have home delivery of alcohol, Once you book it Online. This is not true as the app is only aimed at being a virtual queue system and doesn’t facilitate home delivery of liquor. It is just like the token system or ticket system seen in banks, hospitals..etc, but a virtual one.
Will I be able to Buy liquor without using the app?
NO. As per reports, the Beverages outlets are expected to open from Friday and the outlets will not be selling any liquor to people outside of the Virtual queue system provided by the BevQ app. Only users of the BevQ app will be allowed to buy alcohol and that too in the order of the virtual queue., it is clearly mentioned that all social distancing norms have to be strictly maintained by the outlets during the sale.
BevQ is in its final stage and will be launched in the next days. The Kerala State Beverage`s Corporations is now training the employees via video conferences on how to provide services using the app. Studies show that there are nearly 32 Lakh alcohol consumers in the state a huge response to the BevQ app is expected and the non-availability of alcohol during the lockdown period will also result in an increase in demand for alcohol.
